Recovery
Accidentally deleted a note or want to restore an earlier version? SpudSuite Pro lets you browse and recover deleted items and previous revisions directly from your cloud storage.

How It Works
Recovery connects to your cloud storage provider (Google Drive or Dropbox) and lets you browse items that have been deleted or view previous versions of your files. Everything happens directly between your device and your cloud storage — SpudSuite never stores your data on our servers.
Deleted Items
When you delete a note, task list, or other data in SpudSuite, the corresponding file is moved to the trash in your cloud storage. Recovery lets you:
- Go to Settings
- Click Recovery
- Browse the Deleted Items tab
- Preview deleted notes to verify the content
- Click Restore to bring an item back
Restored items are un-trashed in your cloud storage and will sync back to SpudSuite on the next sync cycle.
Revision History
Cloud storage providers keep a history of changes to your files. Recovery lets you browse these revisions:
- In the Recovery modal, find an item and click the clock icon (History)
- Browse available revisions with their dates and sizes
- Preview the content of any revision
- Click Restore to revert to that version
Recovery Limits
Recovery depends on what your cloud storage provider retains. SpudSuite cannot recover items that have been permanently deleted from your cloud storage.
Google Drive
- Deleted items: Recoverable for up to 30 days after deletion. After 30 days, items in the trash are permanently deleted by Google.
- Revision history: Available for the lifetime of the file. Google Drive keeps up to 100 revisions or 30 days of revisions, whichever is greater.
Dropbox
- Basic / Plus plans: Deleted items and revision history are available for up to 30 days.
- Professional / Business plans: Deleted items and revision history are available for up to 180 days.
If you accidentally delete something important, recover it as soon as possible. The sooner you act, the more likely the item is still in your cloud provider's trash.
What Can Be Recovered
- Notes and their content
- Folders and folder structure
- Task lists and tasks
- Planner boards, columns, and cards
- Projects and associations
- Settings and preferences
Troubleshooting
No deleted items showing up?
- Make sure you're connected to cloud sync (Recovery requires an active cloud connection)
- Items may have been permanently deleted if more than 30 days have passed (Google Drive) or beyond your plan's retention period (Dropbox)
- Check that you're looking at the right cloud account
Restored item not appearing in SpudSuite?
- Wait for the next sync cycle, or manually trigger a sync by clicking the sync icon
- Check that the restored file wasn't corrupted
