Planner
Kanban boards for visual project management. Drag cards between columns and watch your projects grow from seedlings to harvest.
What's a Kanban Board?
Kanban is a visual way to manage work. You have columns representing stages (like "To Do", "In Progress", "Done"), and cards representing tasks. Move cards from left to right as work progresses.
Project management, content calendars, sprint planning, habit tracking, trip planning, or anything with stages.
Creating a Board
- Click the Planner tab in the sidebar
- Click + New Board
- Name your board (e.g., "Website Redesign", "Weekly Meals")
New boards come with default columns. Customize them however you like.
Managing Columns
- Click + Add Column at the right edge of the board
- Name your column
- Optionally choose a color

Creating Cards
- Click + Add Card at the bottom of any column
- Enter a title
- Press Enter or click Add
Cards can have:
- Labels — Color-coded categories for organizing cards visually
- Due dates — Set start and end dates for deadline tracking
- Description — Add detailed notes to any card
Drag and Drop
The core of the Planner is drag and drop:
- Between columns: Drag a card from one column to another to change its status
- Within a column: Drag cards up or down to reorder them
- Columns: Drag column headers to reorder the entire column
On mobile, long-press to pick up a card, then drag it where you want.
Labels
Color-code your cards with labels:
- Click on a card to open it
- Click Labels
- Select existing labels or create new ones
Labels are board-specific. Use them for priority, category, assignee, or anything else. Labels appear as colored strips on cards in the board view, making it easy to scan at a glance.
Start and End Dates
Cards can have start and end dates. These dates serve two purposes:
- On the board: Cards show their due date so you can track deadlines
- On the Schedule: Cards with dates appear on the Schedule timeline as Gantt-style bars
To set dates, open a card and click the date fields. Cards without dates won't appear on the Schedule view.
Tips
- Keep columns to 3-5 for clarity
- Don't pile up too many cards in one column — if "In Progress" is overflowing, finish something before starting something new
- Use labels consistently across your boards
- Set start and end dates on cards if you want to see them on the Schedule timeline
- Group related boards into a Project for better organization
